Disney's coming, but this isn't it.
Okay, I'm so completely overwhelmed with Disney stories. I can't even begin...but I will soon. In the meantime, you can be entertained with these two stories from the kids today.

Last night when Ike and I saw how cold it was supposed to be this morning, Ike said, "Tell Jake it'll be cold enough to freeze spit. He'll think that's cool."

Unconvinced, and a little grossed out, I did it anyway. As Jake and I walked out to the car this morning, I said, "Hey, Daddy said to tell you it's cold enough to freeze spit out here this morning. He thought you'd think that was cool, since you're a boy and all..."

And yes, it worked. "Cool," he exclaimed, then was quiet.

Next I heard a splat and Jake said, "It isn't cold enough. It didn't freeze spit." Ok, yuck, I'm such a girl I guess.

--------------------------------------

Tonight while I rocked Annie to sleep (well, while I rocked her...she was far from asleep), she entertained me with her version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" ("Twinkle star...you are...up up up so high...diamond...sky...") and her version of the day's events ("Jakey in bath. Daddy in bath? No, Jakey in bath. Annie go school? Jakey go school."). After she'd talked for awhile and I was finally nodding off (yes, I mean me, not her), she took my face in her hands and made a kissing noise.

She hugged my neck and said, "Best fwiends, mommy. We best fwiends."

Yes, I cried. And I'm tearing up just writing it down...

"We are best friends mommy" "I have a big best friend and a little best friend" Talking about me and Lucy. Ok. I will stop blogging on your blog now. So get to writing about that trip already!!!

how sweet! My girls used to say that to me, they grow up so fast. That's really gross and kind of funny about the spitting, I hate spit. I guess it's good I have girls they hate it too!
