The Stuff (a toddler's) Nightmares Are Made Of...
This morning Annie woke up around 6 (early even for her) and started calling me. I went in to her room, where she was laying in bed crying.

She saw me and said, "Everybody don't want to play in my room, Mommy."

Poor kid. In her nightmares, no one wants to play with her. :(

Jake and Ike are now immersed in day three of Cub Scout Day Camp. They've come home every evening hot and sweaty, but happy about the day. Well, Ike has mostly just been tired... But they've loved it! Jake has been able to do archery and shoot bb guns every day. They've had water games, crafts, blah blah blah--did I mention the archery and bb guns?? It might as well be called, "Bows & Arrows and BB Guns Camp." I mean, really, what else is the point??

Of course, my mom pointed out that her brothers used to come home from playing with bb's lodged in their faces...

...but they were unsupervised. Not at camp. With Ike.

Right?

Yeah, but did he make a lanyard? You gotta make a lanyard or you can't call it camp. Nobody knows why you make them or what you do with them afterwards, but you gotta, gotta, gotta make a lanyard. When the boys complain that it's too sissy and feels like knitting, tell them it's the same way you make a bullwhip like Lash LaRue uses. (Okay, Indiana Jones. Who knows Lash LaRue anymore, anyway?) That's why everybody wants to make a lanyard. Bullwhips, BB guns, and bows and arrows. Are we in the South, or what?
