So, it was with great foresight that my dad gave Jake books to read for the summer and a workbook to work through. If he had not, I fear I would forget everything I have learned in first grade...
Case in point: Jake missed school yesterday because of a throat infection (a nasty virus that's still got his fever up high) and I am apparently already out of practice.
He's writing a book right now (yes, he is, I'm not just bragging here) about Indiana Jones. He just looked up from his paper and asked, "Mom, how do you spell 'building?'"
"B-U-I..."
"Ok, I got it. What's next?"
"Uhh...B-U-I..."
Well, obviously I remembered eventually. But the point is this: if Jake only missed one day of school and I'm forgetting how to spell "building," what will I forget by August??
