Okay, I really don't consider myself a conservative person. But even the most free-spirited "everything goes" sprite (also not me) can show a little respect.
This morning while watching cartoons with Jake, I saw a Baby Bratz (don't get me started on how evil I think Bratz dolls are) commercial. These babies apparently blow bubbles from their mouths. Okay, whatever. But what got me is that one of the little girls in the commercial took a sip of soda and burped loudly, causing all the girls to giggle.
The fact that it's a girl is not my issue. Girls burp just like boys, of course. But what a low way for the advertiser to try to get kids on board with their product. Parents spend a good deal of time saying, "Say 'excuse me,'" "Don't burp in public, it's rude," etc. So now this company tries to make it look cool?
Thanks for all the help, Saturday morning cartoons.

Yes, I too detest Bratz! We went to one of Sweet Pea's friend bday party and I simply refused to buy anything Bratz even though that was her "absolute favorite thing ever". So I was "not being a very cool mom". When my girls were younger, I was anti-Rugrats and now I'm anti-Bratz. Don't you just love how even commercials can corrupt our kids??
I hate those dolls! And of course both my kids beg me for them all the time. I guess if I thought dolls dressed like hookers was a great influence on them I might. I mean I know I wear a lot of make-up but these dolls look like drag queens! I haven't seen that commercial yet...maybe if we got to the Bratz site and complain!
Ok that is horrible!!! I agree that girls can be just and groddy as boys but come on. Teach your children some manners and respect.
