Okay, I'm starting a new blog. I'm trying to get Ike to do a lot of the work for me...just like I do anytime something involves computers, lightbulbs or bugs. But to be fair, I don't think he's done his own laundry since we got married. At any rate, with his help, it should get prettier on this page soon.
I'm starting this blog because of my obsessive need to talk about my son and husband. With Baby 2 on her way in December, I think it's a good time to start a family blog. I have another blog that's devoted to other things, but not things most people I send this link to will be interested in. So, family and friends, read on.
First things first. I have to record here my first meeting with Jake's girlfriend.
That's right. His girlfriend. The one he came home from his second day of school talking about. Kaylee (spelling?), with her "wiggly" hair (curly) and who is "so sweet" that he thinks he might marry her. The one who he says doesn't know she's his girlfriend...he just made her his girlfriend.
Last night at our first PTA meeting (also our eighth anniversary...very romantic), Jake excitedly pointed to a little girl who sat with her parents two rows in front of us. "That's Kaylee," he said, dancing in his seat.
At the same time, she turned around and pointed at Jake. "That's Jake!" she whispered to her mom, wiggly hair bouncing. Ike said to me, "Hey, she looks a little bit like you." Hmm...should I be reassured by that?
Throughout the meeting, the two four-year-old lovebirds made googoo eyes at each other repeatedly, while her parents looked back at us and grinned. What did I do? I handled it like any 6-months-pregnant mom would...I wiped my eyes continuously while being grateful for waterproof mascara.
He assured me today after school that he played with Kaylee on the playground at recess.
Am I ready for this??
